Goodbye and Hello

It was a very good day. My favorite moment of inauguration morning was this:

Goodbye and please don't ever come back

Goodbye and please don't ever come back

I actually teared up with happiness as I watched that helicopter fly away. and was it my imagination or did that that event evoke the loudest cheer from the mall today?

Another observation: Did anyone else, upon seeing this man:

Cheney

Suddenly recall this man
Mr. Potter

And now I can say PRESIDENT Obama.

That's not a flag pin, is it?

Then I went out in the county to do some map research and the day was quite a stunner. Here’s a snapper I took from the roadside this afternoon.

I hope everyone is happy and well!

Whatcom County + lots of water=

I took these pictures off the user-submitted photo gallery of the Bellingham Herald site. These are all in Whatcom County. I have not seen any pictures yet of the devastation on the Skagit that is keeping me from going to work this weekend.

I have not been around here too much lately, partly because of *cough*facebook*cough* and my other blog. I’m also doing things in the real world, I guess. Hopefully this end of days torrential rain-mudslide-flood thing will abate by Sunday so we can head up to Baker for some snow fun. Since I had to cancel work AGAIN this weekend due to dangerous road conditions. It’s been a crazy winter. I heard it was in the upper 60’s in Denver. Wow.
